LED Lighting Option

4/14/15 10:49 AM

Want to update your current exterior sign from Fluorescent bulbs to a economical LED lighting system?

The new LineFit Light LED system is the incredibly quick and easy way to transform a fluorescent cabinet sign into an efficient LED solution. In four easy steps, taking just minutes per fixture, you get all the lighting performance, energy savings and reduced maintenance benefits of LED technology. Now, the old R17d fluorescent sockets hold the new LED light bars in place with rotating end caps—to ensure the light is perfectly directed to the sign face. Since the GE Tetra® 24-volt Power Supply is rated a Class 2 device, there is no need to run the output (DC) wiring in any raceways or conduit, further reducing installation costs. You get all the LED advantages of bright signs, longer life, energy efficiency, lower maintenance and cold weather performance in one durable, money-saving system.

Features & Benefits:

1.)      Slashes maintenance costs, less servicing cost, no hazardous bulbs to waste

2.)      Cuts energy expenses

3.)      Up to 58%-76% energy savings vs. T12HO fluorescent

4.)      Improved visual appearance

5.)      Available in 11 Sizes (F18, F24, F30, F36, F42, F48, F60, F64, F72, F84, F96)

6.)      Three color temperatures (Daylight 6500K, Sign White 5400K, Cool White 4100K)

7.)      Recessed double contact base - R17d

8.)      Double-sided for double or single-sided signs

9.)      24V System

10.)   Damp and dry rated

11.)    Compliant with material restriction requirements of RoHs

Save on labor expense now, plus maintenance and energy costs for years to come. The new LineFit Light LED system is designed with impressive return on investment in mind. When switching from fluorescent to advanced LED technology, a payback can be achieved in as little as two years. Incredible LED product longevity is the difference. Rather than replace fluorescent tubes over and over, your LineFit Light LED System keeps working beautifully for years, eliminating the added cost, hassle and inconvenience of routine fluorescent maintenance. The financial benefits are even greater when you convert larger spaces and multiple locations; the return can be of significant benefit to your bottom line. Designer Sign Systems, working with R.W. Setterlin Building Company, is pleased to make a donation to Lower Lights Ministries Holistic Leadership Initiative.  Lower Lights Ministries is renovation an unoccupied building in the Franklinton Neighborhood of Columbus, OH.  The building has served the neighborhood for decades, first as a grocery store and later as apartments. Now it will become the Holistic Leadership Center.

The following is an excerpt for their website:

Project Description

The Holistic learning Center will anchor a transformation of the critical Sullivant Avenue corridor. Our design will maintain the building’s historic brick facade and redevelop the entry with storefront widows to showcase indoor activities. The interior design opens the first floor into a large, multi-use room with a dynamic teaching wall including tack-on, write-on, and project-on surfaces. We will lower the floor; replace the wood with concrete; and introduce new overhead beams to support and re-align the second floor. Finally, we will replace existing plumbing, mechanical and electrical systems.

To summarize, we will create a welcoming environment that will foster positive change on Sullivant Avenue.

Designer Sign Systems was proud to donate the dimensional letters for the exterior of the building.

Designer Sign Systems is proud to once again be a sponsor of the JAKESTRONG Organization and their 5K race which was held on June 7, 2014 in Powell, Ohio!  Designer Sign Systems is committed to making a contribution in the community it serves and supporting and enriching the lives of children.

Their history: "The JAKESTRONG 5K is a local grass-roots fundraising event that started in May, 2011 after Jacob (“Jake”) Carlino, a 12 year old boy at the time, was diagnosed with Ewing’s Sarcoma, a rare bone cancer. As Jake continues to courageously fight his battle with cancer, his positive outlook and bravery continue to touch all those that he comes in contact with. It is his wish, and possibly someday, his own mission that all of us can help put an end to this awful disease and prevent other children from walking this path of hardship. Our goal is to raise over $1 million for pediatric cancer research ... The JAKESTRONG name itself signifies one boy’s mission to involve local communities to help make a difference for all children fighting cancer by building awareness and raising the much needed funds for pediatric cancer research."

The Billy Ireland Cartoon Library and Museum is opening this week at The Ohio State University as the world’s largest single archive collection of original cartoon art. Original cartoons and comics from such artists as Will Eisner, Charles Schulz (Peanuts), Gary Trudeau (Doonesbury), Jim Davis (Garfield) and Ohio’s own Billy Ireland are showcased in both galleries and archive collections.

Our installer worked tirelessly (among lots of traffic and attention) to install many sets of dimensional letters, including some 28 feet up, and 2 dozen dedication plaques. Our feedback has been fantastic from OSU, the designer, the architect and the donors.
